Welcome to my Portfolio!
This is my ePortfolio site, where my blog is housed and showcases the work I am involved in, along with some of the past projects that I have done. My blog can be found here: In the blogatorium
Currently I am the Director of Dibden Center for the Arts, at Johnson State College and the founder of a connected learning community. I have been teaching technical theater there since 1988. In 2000 I created the Associate of Arts in Technical Theater Degree, where I explore new models of teaching and learning in a student centric learning community. I facilitate classes in Stagecraft, Lighting and Scenic Design and Theater Lab. Dibden Center for the Arts is operated as a performing arts center 100% by students.
In 2007, I discovered web 2.0 and Second Life. And in 2009 I completed my Certificate in Virtual Worlds from the University of Washington. The exciting pace of change and the huge shifts in learning occurring through the use of technology have had a profound affect on my own teaching and learning. In the summer of 2012, I decided to enter the Master of Arts Degree in Education Program, under a unique Individualized track, at Johnson State College, to explore these changes and deepen my expertise. I completed about a third of the Master of Education, Individualized Track, that Johnson State College offers. My reflections for the Master Degree classes are here. Two profound take a ways from the experience revolve around the learning environment and the hidden curriculum, and the nature of learners. Then I was interrupted. I became enthralled with the Maker Movement and identified deeply with the pedagogical practice.
