9/4/12 TA, Transactional Analysis. Complexity theory. It is a quantum vision of learning constructed as an 'intervention.' The components are place based: a particular person, in a particular place, in a particular time, over time. Genotype, Phenotype and Environtype; Each interacts with each other and are defined in relationship to each other. Knowledge is emergent and the path is not foretold.
I suppose it could be argued that we as designated without learning disabilities, are in fact disabled as to whom we could be. In which case an 'intervention' would be to create innovators and facilitate ways for us to evolve to another level. The opportunity exists using TA to look in depth to the contexts and particulars of what prevents innovation and limits our creativity. As to how that is done I have no idea, but I have a feeling part of this is recognizable in my learning community.
I guess that is what bugs me about the word 'intervention.' It implies that they whom are initiating the intervention have the best interests of the person at heart, and do they have any idea of what interventions they themselves are in need of?
I fully intend to look at ways to utilize this to examine learning objectives in my teaching.
